POST 29/267 : LINEN STORES ASSISTANT 5/8TH POST(Overberg District)

SALARY : R64 083 (5/8th) per annum

REQUIREMENTS :

Minimum requirement: Basic numeracy and literacy. Experience: AppropriateHospital/Clinic or other Health Facility laundry experience. Inherentrequirement of the job: Ability to work with heavy duty Laundry/cleaningequipment. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Ability to work with heavy dutyLaundry/cleaning equipment. Basic knowledge of infection control and safetyprocedures of a Laundry/Hospital environment. Basic knowledge in the correctmethods of handling, sorting and counting of linen. Basic knowledge in washingand sluicing of linen. Ability to communicate effectively in at least two of thethree official languages of the Western Cape. Must be able to count well.

DUTIES :

Accurate recording of all incoming and outgoing linen on a daily basis tohospital, clinics and EMS services. Correct handling, receiving and dispatch ofsoiled and clean linen to the wards and clinic according to internal protocol andinfection control measures. Cleaning of laundry and laundry equipment on adaily basis. Follow and adhere to Health and Safety Regulations. Render asupport service to supervisor.
