POST 29/261 : OPERATIONAL MANAGER NURSING (SPECIALTY PSYCHIATRY)Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services

SALARY : R562 800 per annum (PN-B3)

CENTRE : Stikland Hospital (New Beginnings)

REQUIREMENTS :

Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e.degree/diploma in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registrationwith the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. Apost-basic nursing qualification with a duration of at least 1 year accredited withthe SANC in Advanced Psychiatric Nursing Science in terms of R212.Registration with a professional council: Current Registration with the SANCas a Professional Nurse. Experience: A minimum of 9 yearsappropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration asProfessional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing. At least 5 years of theabove experience must be in psychiatry after obtaining the 1-year qualificationin Advanced Psychiatric Nursing Science. Inherent requirement of the job:Valid code B/EB driver’s license. Willingness to work shifts and standby duties.Competencies (knowledge/skills): Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel andPower Point). Excellent verbal and written communication skills in at least twoof the three official languages of the Western Cape.

DUTIES :

Implement an effective and efficient recovery and psychosocial rehabilitationprogramme (PSR) for the three Units. Implement an efficient qualityimprovement programme. Implement effective and efficient Resourcemanagement i.e. human, health technology, financial and physical. Managedevelopment and training programmes for nursing and related staff. OverallManagement of the nursing component, including homebased carers/cleanersin all three units. Provide leadership, supervision and direction for the provisionof improved patient centred care in the three New Beginnings Units.
