SALARY : R562 800 per annum (PN-B3)

REQUIREMENTS :

Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualifications (i.e.Degree/Diploma in Nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registrationas a Professional Nurse with the South Africa Nursing Council (SANC) as aGeneral Nurse and Midwife/Accoucheur. A post-basic nursing qualification witha duration of at least 1 year, accredited with the SANC in Medical and SurgicalNursing: Trauma and Emergency or Medical and Surgical Nursing Science:Critical Care: General. Registration with a professional council: Proof of 2021registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse and Midwife/Accoucheur.Experience: A minimum of 9 years appropriate/recognisable experience innursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in GeneralNursing. At least 5 years of period referred to above must beappropriate/recognisable experience in the specific specialty after obtainingthe 1-year post-basic qualification as mentioned above. Inherent requirementsof the job: Will be required to work shifts (day and night), weekends and publicholidays. Will be required to do after hour hospital cover. Valid Code (B/EB)drivers’ license. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Basic computer literacy.Ability to communicate in at least two of the three official languages of the

Western Cape. Knowledge and insight of relevant legislation and policy relatedto this nursing specialty within the public sector. Ability to promote qualitypatient care through the setting, implementation and monitoring of standards.Ability to function independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Effective communication, interpersonal, leadership, decision making, andconflict resolution and labour relations skills. Good organisational skills and theability to function under pressure.

DUTIES :

Planning, manage, co-ordinate and maintain an optimal, specialised NursingServices as an Operational Manager in an Emergency Centre setting. Effectivemanagement and utilisation of Human and Financial Resources to ensureoptimal operational function in the units. Initiate, co-ordinate and participate intraining, development and research within the nursing department. ReliefEmergency Centre and High Care Unit Operational Managers. Reliefsupervisor. Deliver a support service to the Nursing Service and the institution.Maintain ethical standards and promote professional growth and self-development.
